This is Original LÖWE!
From invention to global market leadership
Our History
Inventor and pioneer in sustainability.
Our Mission Statement
What makes us the cutting expert?
The groundbreaking invention by Walther Schröder

In 1923, the visionary company founder Walther Schröder introduced a groundbreaking innovation: the world's first anvil pruner. The 'Lion on Gear' logo was registered with the Imperial Patent Office in 1925. The subsequently developed 'Original LÖWE cutting principle' revolutionized cutting with a pulling blade against a fixed anvil.

To this day, the "Original LÖWE 1" remains virtually unchanged in our product portfolio, with the anvil principle also being applied in many current models.

The success story of a globally registered trademark

Original LÖWE, as a globally registered trademark, has established itself as a market leader through unparalleled quality. Already upon their introduction in 1923, Original LÖWE pruners were significantly superior to the conventional pruners forged from two halves used until then, and this advantage persists even today.

Even then, the Original LÖWE 1 cut remarkably easily and was characterized by its low weight and replaceable wear parts. Even after 100 years, these spare parts remain available, which established the company as a pioneer in sustainability a century ago. Our models are known for their optimal utility and impressive durability.

Unique design and distinctiveness

The classic Original LÖWE cutters with orange handles and a solid, chrome-plated cutter body possess a distinctive, clear appearance. Given the multitude of competitor products, it is crucial that our cutters stand out from the crowd through their form, color, and quality and are immediately recognizable.

The Anniversary Edition
Modern technology meets nostalgic design

To mark our 100th anniversary, we have created the Original LÖWE 1.100, a special anniversary edition whose design is visually inspired by the first pruners.

The modern technology of these cutting tools perfectly harmonizes with the nostalgic design of bygone eras. Both the typeface and the logo closely resemble those of the cutting tools from the 1920s. The metal handles are adorned with intricate engravings of plant tendrils, thereby also providing increased slip resistance.

The Original LÖWE 1.100 enables an easy, smooth cut of branches with a diameter of up to 25 mm and is suitable for virtually all types of woody plants. This special edition is complemented by a nostalgic packaging design.

Continuous improvement and strong customer relationships

Our products undergo continuous optimization and improvement. In close collaboration with our customers, we have developed an additional 100 models over the years that precisely meet their specific requirements. Valuable experience and knowledge are consistently integrated into their design and development.

The sustained success serves as the best testament to the unique functionality and quality of our Original LÖWE cutters, which have been valued by professionals for decades across over 100 countries on all continents.
