In 1923, company founder Walther Schröder developed the world's first anvil pruner. In our model „Original LÖWE 1“, the original design persists in an almost unchanged form, and even today, our pruners are characterized by a practically unlimited lifespan. Thus, suitable spare parts are still available today for a 100-year-old Original LÖWE pruner. Even after a million cuts, wear parts can be easily replaced, and the tool can continue to be used.
Another manifestation of this core principle is socially sustainable practices in our production. For us, this entails a balance between automation and manual labor, an optimised material flow, and respectful collaboration among customers, suppliers, and employees.
As a third-generation family business, the value of family naturally holds great significance. Therefore, our focus is on people, and one of our most important values is "Happy Employees"! Continuous dialogue is just as integral as individual professional development. Furthermore, support beyond the workplace, such as subsidizing childcare costs, is a matter of course for us. Additionally, through a Plan sponsorship for each employee, we are currently providing a better future for 60 disadvantaged children worldwide.
Regionally, we have been cooperating for over 20 years with the Drachensee Foundation, a social institution that provides a differentiated and inclusive range of services for people with disabilities. Currently, 80 individuals from this foundation assist us in the production of our Original LÖWE pruners.
Ecological sustainability is another crucial aspect. We are 100% 'Made in Germany', and we deliberately select our suppliers within Germany. For years, our electricity has been sourced entirely sustainably from renewable energy. A dedicated photovoltaic system contributes to our eco-friendly energy supply, and an expansive traditional orchard surrounds the premises, fostering biodiversity. In doing so, we consciously assume responsibility for the environment, humanity, and nature.
